Milan’s Miracle Showcase
Benefiting Pediatric Cancer Research and Milan’s Miracle Fund
Dear Community Member/Business Owner,
I come to you today with an opportunity to lend your support in the fight against pediatric cancers.
On Saturday, September 14th, 2013, Forest Hills Northern High School will be hosting The Milan Miracle Showcase. You can help make a difference in the lives of children in West Michigan who are fighting pediatric cancers.
The Milan’s Miracle Fund was founded by Philip and Sharyn Capobianco and honors the life of their daughter Milan, who lost her fight four years ago at the age of eight to a brain stem glioma. The Fund was first established to help Milan’s fight but now supports children and families in West Michigan coping with pediatric cancers.
This amazing family suffered another deep loss this past spring with the passing of Philip Capobianco from a brain aneurysm. The Fund honors the legacy of a devoted father, the children who continue their fight and those who have lost their fight.
Philip and Sharyn’s other passion involves their support of West Michigan Soccer for their son Delano who is a junior at Forest Hills Northern. The Milan Miracle Showcase features contests between the boys’ soccer programs of Forest Hills Northern, Central and Eastern and the Falcons of East Kentwood. All proceeds from admission to the event go to Milan’s Miracle Fund and the Capobianco’s dream of finding a cure for pediatric cancers. How can you support??
-Purchase a $5 Milan’s Miracle Fund Zox Wristband for entry to the event

Milan’s Story: Milan was born December 8, 2000 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2009, 11:38am at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. She endured a lifelong battle against the odds which she conquered time and again. She was told she would never walk, and she danced in flip flops! Then she was told she would be legally blind, and instead she saw the world clearly. But in the end, Milan lost her biggest fight with an inoperable brain tumor. For Milan Maria Capobianco, her short life was lived brighter than the sun. Milan’s spirit remains the same, and it is forever wrapped around all those who knew her and those she continues to touch through her legacy.
Please join us on Saturday, September 14th in support of the Milan’s Miracle Fund and watch these outstanding West Michigan soccer programs showcase their talents.
Advocacy: Over 200,000 children annually are diagnosed with cancer in the United States. The National Cancer Institute allocates only 4% of their budget to pediatric cancer research. This inadequate allocation of federal resources causes many children like Milan to have no treatment options simply because of lack of research. Your donation goes directly to the Helen Devos Children's Hospital, where children and families right here in west Michigan get the support, treatment, and research they desperately need.
Help us in our fight for the kids winning the battle against pediatric cancer…..help us remember the ones that we lost. www.milansmiraclefund.org.
